I feel bad for the kids who have to go here. I went here about 10 years ago for my middle school years and boy was it the worst experience I've ever had. I'm not talking about puberty and stuff that goes along with being a kid in middle school I mean this school was a legitimately terrible place to be at the time. When I think back on my middle school years it's filled with a terrible teaching staff most of whom did not hold advanced degrees, an incompetent principle who's only goal was to "make RMS the best middle school in the county", and a education system that was aimed towards better test grades rather than actually educating it's students. Luckily I had a couple of teachers whom I remembered fondly (one of my 7th grade female science teachers and two of my female 8th grade English teachers) but every other teacher was either prude, ignorant or just inept at their teaching jobs. I don't know how it is now nor do I care but I'm pretty sure nothing has changed.
Principles suspends students based on lies from other student & no proof!
God help me, I have a special needs child going in this year and again I will stay on them if they do not treat him right, or do right by him.
Not everyones nice im going to sixth grade im scared asf 07/03/17
I already had one child go through this school. They let bullying go on, until the child being bullied has had enough and then that child gets in trouble. Also you better hope you can pay for their Washington trip, because my child was told if she couldn't go, she'd stay behind and clean desks and classrooms and I had a fit about that. She won't be punished because we are poor. I stayed out there for something that they were doing almost yearly. They let the children get lost academically. I saw it happen with my neighbor's child. He never did any work, yet passed yearly. He was special needs. If he didn't have to do the work, then why did he have to go at all?
Do yourself a favor. If you love your children, don't enroll them here. The staff are rude, they almost never get back to you if you have a problem and they get hostile if you even mention unenrolling your child. My son was bullied by a high school kid on the bus on the way to school and nothing was done about it. The middle and high school students share buses so your 6th grader will be riding the bus with 9th to 12th graders. I'm not okay with that. I pulled my son from this sorry excuse for a school. He's better off because of it.
